Why hasn’t every company purchased their own systems?


The simple answer is the cost. Call recording systems require a substantial investment, which has not been a viable option for many businesses.


What does Hosted mean?


By hosted, we simply mean that rather than having to purchase and install systems and equipment on your premises, you simply use ours. In effect you are using a third party’s resources rather than your own; in this case BCH is the third party or ‘host’ hence the term hosting.


Isn't it illegal to make recordings without the permission of the caller or recipient?


No, it is not illegal to make recordings or to listen to them as long as you have taken reasonable steps to let both parties know that a recording is being taken and that you have registered as a data user or are exempt from registration. Please note that this advice is not meant to cover employers recording or monitoring private calls made by their employees.


Do you have to make customers aware of a recording?


Yes, you must take those "reasonable steps." This could be in the form of a recorded announcement at the beginning of a call (e.g. a common one is "calls may be recorded for quality and training purposes") or a statement on the brochure which solicited the call or some other method or all of them.


Can I still withhold my CLI?


The standard Call Studio service comes with an optional inbound number for CLI privacy. If you select this option every Call Studio call will only pass the privacy number.


What if the person I am calling doesn’t answer?


Callers can still call you back as your new Non geographic number will be presented as a missed call on the caller’s phone and incoming calls are recorded, it will however keep your landline and mobile numbers private.


What if I miss a call?


Call Studio also has a built in voicemail facility.


Do I get to see a breakdown of calls?


We will provide you with daily, weekly or monthly call statistics.
